Metal

Zippers, snap buttons and rivets are always on the agenda – and every season we manage to design new, trendsetting shapes and develop matching electro platings:

Neat and plain or else coated with artificial rust or jazzed up with the fresh look of a fancy enamel varnish.

Little, shiny pieces of art

Manufacturing an item out of metal is a lot more laborious and complicated than turning a button.

Once the mockup has been finished a casting mould is built, in which the molten metal is forced under pressure – an alloy consisting of zinc and other metals, the so-called zinc alloy die-cast. By the way, golden electroplating (colour) actually does contain a certain amount of the precious metal! Once cooled down the raw item is deburred and – where applicable – refined with transparent or coloured enamel varnish or simply brushed.
